Organizing Girls’ Tights

by mamalaundry on February 5, 2010

I am so thrilled to welcome Mama’s Laundry Talk’s first guest poster!  Heather from Kingdom Arrows brings know-how and experience with her laundry tips.  So stop on by her blog!

As a guest blogger, I seem to have a lot of latitude. I say A LOT because of what I am about to show you.

This is a blog about “Laundry and All Things Laundry”, which includes organizing laundry. Now you may think I am going to show you how to tame my daughters’ tights drawer. Well, I better leave that to the professionals! But, since I have two girls that are 17 months apart and in different size tights, I needed a quick and easy way for them and me to tell them apart.

White Tights

If the tights are light colored, I just label them with a Sharpie, with the child’s first initial. Even most 3 year olds can identify that. I really don’t know why a 6 year old would try wearing the 3 year olds tights, but it has happened, in the past, at our house.

If the tights are dark colored, I use the child’s assigned color thread. Click here to see how I also organize Christmas ornaments the same way. Even if you do not know how to sew, you can Dark Tightsthread a needle and wrap it through one spot of the tights about five times. Remember to begin and end with a knot.

This tip saves a lot of time on Sunday mornings when you are stretched six different directions!

Thanks for letting me visit with you-

Heather
