What’s going on in your laundry life this week? I’ve got several outstanding issues that I must tackle. Here they are in no particular order:
- My husband is complaining that his workout t-shirts are smelly. They smell great coming out of the washer and then the dryer. But as soon as he breaks a sweat in them, they smell awful and soured. It’s really a losing battle with those shirts, though. He works out in the morning and then those wet shirts sit in a hot, plastic gym bag all day until he gets home. So that incubation time certainly is working against my laundry efforts. But I’ll do my best to get them smelling clean again.
- I have a ton of kids’ clothes to put through the stain remover soak. It seems like their clothes are coated in everything from salsa to chili, which are two toughies to remove. But I’m sure The Soak will do the trick!
- I have got to work on my Laundry Room this week. It’s hanging over my head, and I detest for things to hang over my head! We’ve got a super busy week coming up, so this item will probably be towards the end of the week. But I will get it finished! I’ll be sure to post pictures upon its completion.
And other than the normal washing clothes routine, this should be it. I hope!
What’s going on with your laundry this week? It’s Monday, so go ahead and figure out what you need to accomplish and put it on your to-do list!

#1: I love the to do list picture in this post. There are times when I feel overwhelmed with the lists I see around me – perhaps I wouldn’t if I just picked ONE major thing to do for the day. It might be tongue in cheek, but I seriously think I will try it! 🙂
#2: If you’re thinking about overhauling your laundry room, does that mean you’re feeling okay with the pregnancy? Trust that all is going smoothly. 🙂
#3: My laundry room is a DISASTER!!! I need to iron (oh my word, I don’t even want to think about the pile on the ironing board!), and I need to wash sheets and towels and our laundry basket is overflowing. TODAY…I will manage the laundry room. 🙂
Have a great week!
Carrie – You’ve got a busy laundry week too it sounds like!
You are very sweet to ask about the pregnancy. All is going well for the moment, except for the normal exhaustion. 🙂 There are a million tasks my mind wants to complete, but my body doesn’t seem to have the energy for them. And my laundry room is at the top of that list! So we’ll see if I get to it. Thankfully, the laundry room isn’t going to kill us all if it stays in disarray!
Enjoy your week! 🙂

Sad laundry to-do this week…giving a good wash to all our newborn diapers so I can get them ready to sell.
Tricia – I tried to access your blog, but it keeps giving me the ‘parent directory’. Do you have a different link? I’m always looking for a great new blog to read. 😉
Has your baby grown out of the dipes? Growing out of that newborn stage is so bittersweet!!
I need a tip for swimsuits. We wash them right away, but mine’s still smelling ick. The kids’ suits are fine. Help!
Have you left in a wet heap at all? If so that allows it to mildew, and that smell is pretty hard to get out.
Also, it could make a difference where you wore it – in the pool (chlorine), in a lake, in beach water, etc. Different bodies of water harbor different ick smells. Even the chlorinated pool!
Even though I don’t wash bathing suits (usually) on the ‘normal’ cycle, I definitely would in your case. And you KNOW I’d add in a scoop of Oxi Clean for safe measure. 😉 And then hang outside in the full sun to dry. Hopefully that will do the trick!

Oh, yes, I changed my blog addy. My old one was still on here. Changed it now!
He’s four months old and while I can still snap the snap ones (aplix ones pop off now! LOL), they are riding WAY low on him. Looking like a plumber. 😉 I’m in the midst of upsizing our stash…but so sad to be done with newborn diapers for the last time.
Nope, no wet heap – they go right into the wash when we get home, and I hang them to dry. I am the only one that isn’t in the water the entire time we are at the pool. I usually sit out for the last 30 minutes or so – packing things up, etc – I wonder if that could be the difference? I’ll give the OxiClean and sunshine a try – because I’m NOT putting it up for the season with the weird smell….
This week I am washing all my daughter’s clothes. She is going away to university on Friday. I am making sure, everything she takes is freshly laundered. My clothesline looks funny with sweaters and a winter coat hanging on it, when it’s so hot out 🙂
Try using 1/4 cup of vinegar in the washer when you wash his gym clothes. I think you will see it make a difference. I use Shout and Tide Stain Release. My husband likes to work on cars, and I have two boys. We live on 13 acres, and the clothes…well, they take a beating. Shout on the stain a little while before I wash, then Tide Stain Release in the washer, and all is well.
