Do you have a labeler? My fabulous husband got one for me last year as a Christmas gift…and I love it (and him too, of course!).
It was a great gift idea for me, as I like to be organized and know where things are. During this season in my life (with lots of little people around) I am not nearly as organized as I’d like. But one day I will be again!
In the meantime, I use my labeler for lots of different areas in the house: my Tupperware containers that store dry goods, boxes in the school room, etc.
And then it occurred to me one day: I can even use my labeler in my Laundry Room!
Oh what a happy, organized thought that was!
And so I’ve labeled the bins that are in my laundry room and also some of our shelving. If I could find some metal inserts to go on my wire shelving, I would be even more thrilled. But I’ve yet to locate those yet at any of our local stores.
This is the best part of labeling in the Laundry Room: on the off chance that someone besides me is putting things away, they know where the items go. Relief for the one putting away (since there is no guess work) and relief for me in that I don’t have to go back and re-do someone else’s help. No doubt, it is win-win for everyone!
My lovely labeler definitely works for me!
Do you have a labeler? If so, what do you use it for? I’d love to hear all of your ideas, whether they are laundry-related or not!

I love my labeler! I use it to identify different flours and sugars in my pantry, I decant cereals into Tupperware and then label them. I label first aid boxes. When we lived overseas and I was limited on what I could bring, I would decant liquids into smaller bottles for our medical kit and then label them (good when they are both clear liquids!). And then my husband discovered the labeler and suddenly we had the neatest electrical breaker box on the street! 😉
I don’t have a labeler and even if I did, I doubt that I would use it. I’m just not that organized… :).
Ok, you’ve made me start thinking seriously about labeling. Like Bucksome, I’ve always thought I was too disorganized to even try. But when you said “on the off chance that someone besides me is putting things away, they know where the items go” labeling suddenly made more sense to me.
Hmmmm.
I have a label maker and I used it to label the shelves in my cupboards so the kids put stuff in the right spot, when they unload the dishwasher.
