It is miraculous to even me: I have finally finished straightening up my laundry room!
Remember what my laundry room looked like before? It was shamefully bad. And this item has been on my to-do list for weeks now. After a few set backs, I finally had some time that I could work on it today.
So I went from this chaos:
To this bliss:
My Straightened Laundry Shelves
(I had a load of towels in both the washer and dryer, which is why my shelves are so bare! They were just waiting to be filled with nice, clean towels.)
The top of my straightened washing machine:
And finally the top of my straightened dryer:
I despise having things hanging over my head and I can’t even describe my relief that it is finished!
As you can see on the bottom shelf, my ironing shelf is still full so I’ll remedy that this weekend. And you can see my stray sock bin on top of my dryer needs to be matched and emptied. But other than that, it’s fairly functional and straight. Just the way I like it!
Is your laundry room a disaster like mine was? Do you have a few minutes you can set aside this weekend to work on it?
I always love before and after pictures, so take a few of your laundry room make-over and send them to me!

I didn’t take a before picture, and I’m still working on the after – but at least I’m making progress! 🙂 The laundry bins (all four of them) are empty, everything is folded and put away, and the ironing stack has been reduced from Mt. Everest to a little hill in the mountains of E. TN. 😉 I still need to clear off the top of my desk in there (it’s also my sewing/project room), and clean (good-bye dust bunnies!), but I’m getting close! 🙂 Your room looks great!
Stray sock bin- why didn’t I think of that???
I so understand! My problem is is that my laundry room is a laundry room and a walk way from outside to inside and a mud room…. I am still trying to tackle it!
Oh yes – a laundry room/mud room/catch-all room provides its own set of unique circumstances!!
I am motivated to get started on my own laundry room-well half room. But it does have a sink! I just can’t get to it very well. I’ll post before and after pics.
Thanks for all of these great ideas.
Always, Mama’s Mama
Mine is in the basement. Luckily the basement is well lit and I tend to line dry. Otherwise I would be one depressed Mama. 🙂 I’ve been thinking of ways to improve my laundry area. Will have to take before and after photos and get them to you. Thank you so much for the motivation. 🙂
Amanda – Yes! Take pics and send them if you don’t mind my posting them! It’s always encouraging and motivating to see how others do things.
Thanks so much for stopping by 🙂
