There are a few items in my laundry room that I consider to be must-haves. Here they are in no particular order:
- My baskets above my washer and dryer
These baskets hold everything from scissors to a tape measure to the lint brush. By having these baskets, it prevents all of these small random items from lying on top of my machines. And then falling off behind it. It’s one of the easiest ways for me to keep my small laundry room organized. But more importantly, these items have a ‘home’ so people know where to return them after they are borrowed. ‘A place for every thing and every thing in its place’ – right?
- My S-hooks
I love these little hooks. I hang dry lots of items on these S-hooks so I prolong the life of our clothes – girls’ tights, lingerie, and bathing suits to name a few. They take up very little space when not in use and they are cheap to purchase.
- Oxi Clean
Oh I do love the Oxi Clean so. I have four little people and they are the masters of creating messes. My washing machine also has an ‘Oxi’ feature which puts the Oxi Clean in the water at just the right time in the wash cycle to maximize its cleaning power. This product has saved us so much because of its excellent stain removal quality. No, I’m not affiliated with Oxi Clean in any way – I just think it is a top-notch product.

I love my old-fashioned pull-out wooden clothes dryer. It’s just a little one attached to the wall, but it’s perfect for all the little items I air dry. Also when we remodeled our laundry, I made the builder create a small 17″ “closet” that’s just big enough for brooms, mops, and 7 or 8 clothing items that need to air dry. He thought I was crazy because it was so small (but that’s all the room we had), but every time I use it I’m grateful I didn’t cave to his remarks- I love it!
Oh I’d love to see a picture of that!! Very nice feature!

We have a big sink next to the washer and dryer and an old fashioned wooden scrubbing board. It’s great for holding laundry or when you need to wash something by hand to have it right there next to everything else so you’re not running around the house looking for it. Love the tips and your blog! Keep it coming please:-)
Oh RuthAnn, that sink would be a dream come true to me!! Enjoy it!
Thanks for your kind words. 😉
